Greta received a new book today. This one in Norwegian. I liked it from the moment I saw it. It is about a little puppy Aston that felt sorry for the rocks he found in the street, because it was cold, or wet, or something else, and he brought them home and made little beds and blankets for them. Until the creative and tired parents find a good way to help him :-) Very kind book.
I work in a printing house in Riga and we are making most of the books for the Scandinavian market, Norway included. Thus, we of course have a lot of books in Swedish, Norwegian at home - unfortunately, none of us undestands them :)).
ReplyDeletewow, I did not know they printed books in Russia for Scandinavia. I thought they printed them all in China.
ReplyDeleteNo, no. It's in Riga, Latvia (the Baltic States), not in Russia. Also Gyldendal makes some orders here. China, by all means is cheaper, but I can't imagine how much does the transportation cost. However, it is still quite cheap for them to print in Riga too.
ReplyDeleteoops, right. My mistake. Riga is in Latvia. :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, it sounds cheaper to transport then from China. I should check where this book is printed
If it is Livonia Print, that's us :)
ReplyDeleteno. it was Slovakia :-)
