Østerøya

I looked at the weather forkast and calculated that today was going to be the best day to go to the beach. So I drove to Østerøya, and went exploring a new place for me. I enjoyed such a peace and relaxation. I had my lunch with me and some strawberries, so I could spend the whole day there. The trail that leads to the beach:

This is the first beach you get too. A really good one, but I continued.

Another one, but I wanted to go farther.

Here it gets really beautiful.

Then I climbed a mountain. Doe not matter that it was just several meters high, but the view was fantastic, and the exercise level was perfect for me. Tønsberg Tønne.

Then I got to the beach where I just wanted to lay down and do nothing. I had my cross-stitch supplies with me, but I did not take them out of the bag. It was just so good to be there and do nothing.

I am really enjoying this Norwegian summer. Can you tell?

Lazy Sunday

Hello. I hope you had a good weekend. We spent the whola day at home. I had to do something with all the two boxes of strawberries. We eat almost only strawberries these days, they are so good! So I froze a big part of them, too. And also mixed some with sugar and froze that, too. Work for the whole morning. Greta and Santiago were watching some cartoons, building with lego and painting.

After lunch I honestly tried to knit or go outside with Greta for a walk or something, but I went to bed instead and slept almost until 1830!!! I guess I needed it. I would not mind sleeping more, actually.
Last day at work tomorrow, I have mixed feelings about it. It feels right to finish working now, but I also feel a bit nostalgic, and I guess I always have difficulties switching my main activity. Good thing is that the whole next week is full of things to do, so I will not get bored.
Have a good Monday!

Oslo

We keep on enjoying the Norwegian summer, inspite of lacking vacation. Who cares when you have weekends! Sorry that all three first pictures contain soap bubbles :-)

We went to Oslo today, walked in the centre, to the fortress, to Fridays (the only smart way to get your husband to come along with you to the "boring" whole day trip to Oslo).

Greta refuses to take normal pictures with me. :-)

While eating ice cream with dad is ok :-)

Then we walket towards the museum of magic and watched a magician show. I never get to undersnand the tricks, though. :-)

And the rest of the evening in the Frognerbadet, the swimming pool in Frogner park.

Greta took a picture of us, nice, right?

Did you have a great weekend? I still have 6 working days laft before maternity leave, and I don't expect next weekend be any fun compared to this one - Santiago just told me we need stuff from Ikea… I have to think of a way to rescue the weekend!

Avalon jacket

I had a chance to sew a while this morning, this is how the Avalon jacket was made - from the book "Sewing clothes kids love". The same book with the Manhattan dress. Of course, it was not the right weather to try this on Greta, we are still having a great weather, starts to be too warm, actually. But Greta said she liked it, flowers make anything to be of her taste.

Scrapbooking Greta's birthday

This evening I needed to get to some relaxing activity, so scrapbooking was perfect. Missed it for some time now. Also looking forward to taking lots of pictures of the baby and scrapbooking them, too!

Manhattan dress-2

Just a week of sewing and another Manhattan special occasion dress is finished. Greta had one she wore the last two years, but it became too small now. This time it had to be pink, of course, a bit bigger. Onother difference is the side lacing instead of back. The same pattern, the same book, the same happy girl )

Trip to Sweden

Since the weather was still good, we went to the beach. To Sweden. To the Koster Islands, not so far from the Norwegian border. The islands are ca-free, peaople use bycicles to move around, and you take a boat to go there. Here we are on our way:

A tender moment with mom after lunch:

Good beach, probably there are more of them on the islands, we just went to the first we saw.

Here is my 8 months pregnant belly. Ta-da!

We played with the sand on the beach, and played ball while waiting for the ferry back.

We hed a room at a camping site where we stayed overnight, and today we just had it slowly - a breakfast in town and a good time at a playground.

On our way back we stopped at the big shopping mall and filled the car with stuff, as always. But that is ok too, from time to time.

Summerly dinner

The weather is great, and it is goint to be like this still for another week. I don't remember such a great summer without any rain for more than two weeks! I am in love with Norwegian summer. Even does not matter that we work, we still have this fantastic mornings for walking to work in a fresh morning air, and incredible summer evenings.
Two days ago I started making a bread. Why 2 days? Because it is no-knead bread. And yesterday we baked it, and made the garlic butter. So finally today we made the garlic bread while Santiago grilled some prawns and haluomi. Recommend you this recipe for garlic bread. Wonderful smell in the kitchen for two evenings guaranteed!

Have a good weekend. We are definitely having a great one, more details later! :-)
