I dare
Ok, I will try! I will knit something for myself this time. The last time I did knit for myself, I spent 2 years knitting something big and ugly that I do not use. But this one looks pretty:
I am knitting Abalone with Madeline Tosh (Tosh DK) yarn.

Odda
This weekend we traveled to the western part of Norway, to a place near Odda, near Hardanger fjord. Our friends from Oslo invited us to spend time with them there. The boys did a major hiking trip to the "Troll's tongue" (pictures coming soon), and girls and kids enjoyed each other's company and the wonderful mountain view!
This pictures are made by Marina, I promise to post some of mine pictures later, too.
What is really wonderful is that Greta liked to travel by car this time. 300 km one way? No problem!

I can sew!
Yes, I am very surprised by the result! This is "Manhattan Special Occasion Dress" from the book "Sewing Clothes Kids Love". It could be reversible, but I did not place the laces inside, since I was not so interested in the reversible dress.
This dress is very complicated to make. Only the skirt part is made of 16 pieces! All the parts are very curved and difficult to sew together. But it looks like I did it well!
I prepared the dress and left it on the hanger on the door. And when Greta came home from the swimming pool, I told her that there was a present awaiting her. And there it was. Greta said "Thank you, Mommy!" and immediately asked to put it on. She said herself that she is a princess :-) Where did she get that? But she is right. On these pictures, she is posing for daddy in the dress.

Learning to use a scooter
Greta has been learning to use a scooter this summer, because our friend Carlos gave her a scooter as a present for her second birthday. But for some unknown reasons, she found it really difficult to learn, and was falling sometimes and losing control. So I heard about another kind of scooter, with 2 wheels in front and one back (while the scooter Greta has, has two wheels back and one in front). And.... it is magic! Just after a minute of using it she understood the principle! She has learnt! Yay!
