Bathroom fun and a kitchen marathon

We received a package today full of bathroom goodies. Greta enjoyed getting clean in a pink water, and she even got a surprise that was hidden inside of the ball.


And here is the kitchen marathon.
Given:
1l turkish yoghurt a couple of days before best before date (having been unfrozen, so you know the texture is not the best, but the yoghurt itself is great)
a husband alone at home with the child for 4 days...

Do you think he will use to cook somethink with it? I did not think so either. So I used it all up today. Now we have yoghurt-bread, yoghurt-cake (Greta said before going to bed that it has to be pink - great that I had some frozen pink cake icing!) and yoghurt-based waffels dough for breakfast. All made in a couple of hours. I feel like a super-hero!

Not just a usual Monday

Besides from being out usual stay-at-home Monday, today was a bit special. Today is 6 years since my husband and I are married. 6 years of marriage.
A lot of things happened during this time, but I am especially glad for having this child being in our lives every day.
Santiago was at work today, we were at home enjoying our summer day - ice cream with incredibly good homemade magic chocolate shell topping (the one that hardens on top of the ice cream! check out this recipe), some sea-buckthorn lemonade (!), fruits from the garden, playing picnic on the floor and picking flowers from the garden lawn. Tomorrow is the start of a short (2 days only) working week for me.

1. The first strawberry from our own "garden". Greta could not wait longer and asked me to pick it. It was way to sour...

2. Santiago loved my bakery today. "Barquillos" and the garden tea: mint, rosemary, ginger, lime, blackcurrant leaves.

3. Tomorrow is our aniversary - 6 years married.

4. I promised Greta a lot of things lately, she asks me to sew her dresses, bows, shoes... Well, I made this tunica just half an hour ago.

Rainy saturday

The plan for today was to visit a farm where we were supposed to pick blackcurrant. But it was clear that the boring and steady rein was not going to let us. But I can not say that we had a boring day anyways, I think it was nice.
1. The infinite project: the bed blanket is really never ever going to be finished... This one is boring...

2. We are late this year with a present for Greta's spanish cousin that just turned 3. So we painted something for him this morning.





Finished. I painded a pinguin with my handprint, added the eyes, and Greta continued with "eyebrows", "arms", the heart to the left and the horse (!) to the right. A little present for the cousin.

3. Together with this one. I printed the picture of them together this summer, and Greta painted the picture frame (pink, of course, but I hope it is ok...)

4. This is a good one. The other day Greta said to me:
- Мама, смотри, виноград!
- Look, mum, the grapes!
She was the first one to notice our tomatoes started to appear.

5. This is the first time we did sprout our own seeds for salad. I just loved the taste, and I will sure repeat again and again. This one was brokkoli seeds. Even Greta loved them.

6. I don't know what is it with rainy days, but it is surely the best days drinking lots of tea and cooking and eating good food.

7. And, of course, we needes some craft project to complete this weekend. This time we made glass beads bracelets, one with safety pins and one with a piece of old jeans. Look tutorial here. Greta helped a lot. Not only she was trying to put the glass beads on a safety pin, byt she also helped me with the glue.


8. Even if we did not pick blueberries, you know how much I love berries... so I just had to go buy some blueberries. Part is frozen now, and another - eaten.

9. The evening oatmeal with blueberries, and to bed.


10. And do you know what she told me before going to sleep?
I kiss her good night and say:
- Спокойной ночи, моя девочка. 
- Нет, я не девочка...
- А кто ты? Ты же не мальчик...
- Нет, я... виноград!

- Good night, my girl.
- I am not a girl...
- No? Who are you then? You are not a boy...
- No, I am... a grape!

Water fun

This evening our neighbour friends invited us to spand a warm evening in their swimming pool :-) The one for kids, of course. I just love to see what a great time the girls have together.

Tennis

I have new tennis shoes, and I played for two hours a wonderful summer evening. Life is beautiful.

Love and compassion

When I am sad or hurt, Greta says: "Mama, let's kiss!"

Good summertime recipe

You do not need to be on vacation to enjoy the summer, you just need a day off :-)
You start the day with a cup of tea and a homemade mashed strawberries.

Then you take your child for a walk in the forest.

Let her pick the special ones for the table.


Serve the dinner table outside.

And enjoy your dinner, as well as some freshly picked berries from the garden for the dessert.
